Hey Trailblazer, I'm here to guide you in earning the Approval Process Specialist Superbadge, which is part of the Process Automation Specialist badge. First, you must pass the Approval Process Management Superbadge Unit to achieve this badge. I will help you figure out each challenge and how to clear it.

This blog consists of all four challenges of Approval Process Management include

• Set up and create the approval process

• Create the first step for the New Enhancement Request approval process

• Create a second step for the New Enhancement Request approval process

• Create a third step for the New Enhancement Request approval process

Every challenge has an outcome and hints at how to achieve it. It also solves these errors,” Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the Approval Status field created with the correct default picklist value.”, “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the criteria for the first approval step correctly set on the New Enhancement Request approval process.”, “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find an email alert with the unique name Enhancement_Request_Approved_Alert and the correct recipients.” and “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: The second approval step needs some configuration in reference to the third approval step when records don’t meet the criteria.”

Challenge 1: Set up and create the approval process

Sign up for the Developer Edition org with special configuration. Create an approval process and related configuration for the Enhancement Request object.

• Create a field named Approval Status, with the API name Approval_Status with the following values: New, Submitted, Approved, and Deferred. The default value should be New. Make sure the Approval Status field is visible to users

• Create an approval process named New Enhancement Request. Entry criteria should be (Enhancement Request: Approval Status EQUALS New) AND (Enhancement Request: Description NOT EQUAL TO null) AND (Enhancement Request: Priority NOT EQUAL TO null) AND (Enhancement Request: Type NOT EQUAL TO null) AND (Enhancement Request: Date Needed NOT EQUAL TO null).

• The new approval process should update the Approval Status field to Submitted as soon as the user submits the request for approval. Name this action Update Approval Status Submitted with API name Update_Approval_Status_Submitted

Challenge 2: Create the first step for the New Enhancement Request approval process

Add initial submission action and final rejection and approval actions to the New Enhancement Request approval process. Create the field update actions and first step on the New Enhancement Request approval process.

• Add approval step 1 as Salesforce Admins and assign it to the Salesforce Admins queue.

• Add final approval action to update approval status as “Approved”.

• Add the final rejection action to update the approval status as "Deferred."

Challenge 3: Create a second step for the New Enhancement Request approval process

Create an email alert and a second step on the New Enhancement Request approval process.

• Add approval step 2 as Center of Excellence and assign it to the Center of Excellence queue.

• Add approval action to send an email notification to the Salesforce Admins team and the Enhancement Request Owner.

Challenge 4: Create third step for New Enhancement Request approval process

Create a third step on the New Enhancement Request approval process. Do the final configuration to allow users to submit the Enhancement Request records for approval.

• Assign approval step 3 to the IT queue as IT leaders.

• If you get the above-given error you can solve it by editing approval step 2 and choosing go to next step instead of approve record in Enter this step if the following.

• Add Items to Approve component in Home_Page_Default page.
