USER AUTHENTICATION SETTINGS SUPERBADGE UNIT SOLUTION

Hey Trailblazer, we are here to guide you in earning the Security Specialist Superbadge. This will be a series of solving multiple mini superbadges. We will be helping you out with all badges in the form of blogs.

These are the badges you will have to get to achieve the Security Specialist badge.


The first step to move ahead is clearing the User Authentication Specialist Superbadge. It consists of mini super-badges, the first being the User Authentication Settings Superbadge Unit. First, you must pass the Credential Security to achieve this badge. I will help you figure out each challenge and how to clear it.

This blog consists of all four challenges of the User Authentication Settings Superbadge Unit include

● Password Policies

● Login Requirements and Limits

● API Access for Connected Apps

● Trusted IP


Every challenge has an outcome and hints at how to achieve it. It also consists of solving these errors, ”Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the expected password policies for your organization.”, “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the expected login IP range to allow Inside Sales users to log in via VPN. Make sure you've set a description for the setting, too.”, “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the expected login IP range to allow Call Center users to log in at the corporate office. Make sure you've set a description for the setting, too.” , “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't locate the expected login hours for the ‘Call Center Profile’.” “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the correct API Access Control settings.”, “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the setting that allows those with the ‘Inside Sales Profile’ to use the Salesforce IOS app”, and “Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find the expected number of trusted IP ranges for your org.


Challenge 1: Password Policies


To access your Salesforce organization, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Salesforce org.

  2. Click on "Setup."

  3. In the quick search type "Password Policies.


If you are getting the same error, follow these step

  1. Click on setup

  2. In the search bar type “Profiles “.

  3. Select the System Administrator profile

  4. Click on the Edit button

Now edit password policies for the System Administrator.


Challenge 2: Login Requirements and Limits

Login Requirements and Limits focuses on refining the login requirements and restrictions for specific profiles within Circus Cash Flow. Your task is to implement location-based and time-based access controls for Inside Sales Representatives and Call Center Agents. This means ensuring that users with these profiles can only log in from approved IP addresses during specified time periods as defined by Cumulus Global Bank. Be sure to apply the provided IP address information and set proper descriptions for the settings.

For this challenge

  1. Open your Salesforce org

  2. Click on set up

  3. In the search bar, the search profile

  4. select Inside Sales Profile

  5. Create a new login IP ranges


Note: Make sure you've also set a description for the setting

If you are getting the same error follow these steps

  1. Click on set up

  2. In the search bar Search Profile

  3. Select Call Center Profile.

  4. Create a new login IP ranges

And create a login IP range for the Corporate office as previously we created.

Now check the challenge.

If you are stuck on this error then you have to set up login hours for the call center profile.

  1. Click on set up

  2. In a quick search search profile

  3. select the Call Centre profile

  4. Now set up login hours


Challenge 3: API Access for Connected Apps

When attempting to address the third challenge, "API Access for Connected Apps," we encounter the following errors in our efforts to resolve it.

  • Click on set up

  • In a quick search search “Manage Connected Apps”

  • Select API Access Control Settings

  • Now click on the edit button.

Now If you continue to encounter this error,


Please provide additional information or error messages for further assistance in resolving the issue related to "API Access for Connected Apps."

  1. Click on set up

  2. In a quick search search “Profile”

  3. Select Inside Sales Profile

  4. Click on the Edit button

  5. Search for Connected Apps Access

And check the Salesforce for iOS

Now check your challenge and you have completed your third challenge.


Challenge 4: Trusted IP

Your goal is to configure Cirrus Cash Flow's Salesforce org to establish a Trusted IP Network. This means allowing users to access the org without needing additional identity verification when they log in from specified trusted IP addresses. This configuration enhances security while providing convenience for employees.

When you are working on the Trusted IP challenge and encounter an error, you can follow these steps to address the issue

  1. Click on set up

  2. In Quick Search type Network Access

  3. Create new Trusted IP Ranges.


Now check the last challenge, you have completed all your super badges. Congratulations!
